The Commission on Population and Development Region 10 conducted a two-day caravan on Responsible Parenthood and Family Planning (RPFP) in Sinuda Covered Court and Tribal Hall of Bacayan, Kitaotao Bukidnon on September 6-7, 2019.

More than six hundred (600) individuals were oriented on the different family planning methods as well as the concepts of responsible parenthood.

The POPCOM team also conducted profiling of couples and gave free service on Progestin-Only Subdermal Implant (PSI) to qualified women. Furthermore, the indigenous people were provided with meals and boxes of goods were donated by POPCOM staff.

The caravan is a joint project of the POPCOM 10, Local Government Unit of Sinuda Bukidnon, Provincial Health Office, Philippine National Police, and Armed Forces of the Philippines. At the same time during the program, PNP offered free processing of police clearance and haircut amenity to the residents.

In an interview, Sangguniang Bayan Member Roelito Gawilan expressed his gratitude to POPCOM for being able to visit the remote areas in Kitatao Bukidnon and accorded facilities to the people.

Datu Edwin Dangkay added that aside from PNP and AFP, POPCOM Regional Office 10 is the first government agency to visit Barangay Bancay and provided services to the lumads.
